Meet Alyssa C.
Abernathy, LMSW- CASAC-T

MEET THE FOUNDER

Alyssa C. Abernathy is a dedicated Licensed social worker, youth advocate, and nonprofit leader.

 

Alyssa earned her Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts from The College of New Rochelle’s School of New Resources and her Master’s in Social Work from Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus.​ Alyssa’s professional journey includes extensive experience in counseling services, providing support, resources, information, and linkages to services for diverse populations in need.

​

In addition to her licensure as a social worker, she is a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor-Trainee (CASAC-T).​ In 2024, Alyssa expanded her impact by founding Pathway Partners Solutions LLC, a practice committed to providing holistic therapeutic services, coaching, and support to individuals seeking personal growth and healing.

 

She has also served in leadership roles across the nonprofit sector and within the faith-based community as a youth leader and chaplain.

 

Alyssa is the Founder and CEO of The Life Equip Group Inc., a nonprofit organization committed to equipping youth and young adults ages 15–24 from disadvantaged communities with life skills, educational resources, and opportunities for personal growth. Under her leadership, Life Equip Group spearheads three flagship programs: LEG Cares, LEG Cares service learning Initiative, and the Brown Girls Learn Scholarship Fund.

Alyssa is a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Eta Nu Sigma Chapter, where she served as Community Service Co-Chair. Alyssa’s commitment to service and empowerment has been widely recognized.​ She is the recipient of two citations from the Brooklyn Borough President, the prestigious Congressional Award, and the Excellence in Field Work Award from Long Island University.

Alyssa is newly appointed community board member of the. 75th district where she serves an advocate for the community members of that district.

​

"Your success is designed and lived by you,” Alyssa describes her mission as “providing a safe space for young adults to explore their identity, access support, and pursue non-traditional routes to success."
